When a client is ready to embark on a web site project with us, we follow a procedure to ensure quality work and excellent service.
Stage One: Interview
We schedule meetings with the client to obtain information about the project. During the interview process, we usually ask a combination of any of the following:
- Name and planned purpose of the web site
- Information about the business
- Existing parameters (any existing hosting service, domain name, etc.)
- Print-based catalog, if it exists
- Some future business plans
Stage Two: Agreement
After gathering enough information, we present an agreement describing the details of the project including costs and estimated timeframe. Some of the project details may be worked out here in this stage too.
Stage Three: Mock-up Presentation
Once the client approves and an agreement is formed, we proceed to the next stage and this is to produce a mock-up of the planned web pages to be used in the web site. Depending on the package selected, one or more mockups may be produced.
After the necessary mockups are produced, we present them to our client for comments or selection. We go through this stage in order to cater the look and feel of the web site to our client's taste.
Along with the mockup is an information hierarchy to represent how the products will be organized in the web site. Although this information often times is technical, we still present it to the client in order to ensure that we understood the business. Usually, this applies to web sites that have catalogs.
Stage Four: Implementation
Normally, the client is less involved in this stage simply because this is when we proceed with the design and programming work needed to produce the web site. But there are cases when we have to obtain information along the way
Stage Five: Debugging and Testing
After the project completes its implementation phase, we debug and test the web site along with the client in order to determine any adjustments that need to be made before going live. Surveys are made to see what problems users may run into as they use the web site. We also perform security breach testing in order to ensure security of the web site.
Also in this stage, we provide graphical manuals to our clients for those web sites that feature management consoles in order to easily learn the system.
Stage Six: Going Live
Once the web site is completely tested, we put the web site in active mode so that visitors can see it. We also check with the client to see any issues that need to be addressed to ensure quality.
Stage Seven: Looking Back
From time to time we check on the projects that we build for our clients in order to better serve them and provide future services that they may require. |
